Tyjae Spears: the next star Titans Rb..

Many Titans fans were shocked when Ran Carthon selected Tulane RB Tyjae Spears in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. With Derrick Henry still on the roster and on a huge contract, many didn’t believe the move made any sense. What they don’t know is that the Titans have done it again, they have found their next star RB!

The Titans are widely known as one of the best running back teams of all time. Dating back to the Oiler days with Earl Campbell, and all the way to Tennessee with Eddie George, Chris Johnson, and Derrick Henry. The RB history in Houston and Nashville is rich, and Spears is bound to be next. He was a terrific college back, as he ran for over 1500 yards in his senior season. Spears was one of the biggest reasons why Tulane shocked the college world last year, and won a bowl game. Now he arrives in Tennessee as he will back up the best RB in the NFL. This will be great for Spears as he will be able to learn from Henry, and he compliments Henry perfectly. While The King is known for his incredible power, Spears is known for his quick first step and speed. The Titans will likely play Spears all over the field as a traditional RB, receiving-back, and returner. While his role in his rookie year will be limited, Spears will be the eventual successor to Derrick. With Henry being 29, his career won’t last forever, and Spears will be a perfect replacement. His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will expand the offense greatly when he eventually starts. Dare I say it, did the Titans find their next Chris Johnson??
